Loren Hunt
Clinical Trials Assistant
Having started working in the care sector in 2015, Loren made the move to Edinburgh from London in 2016 where she began her undergraduate degree. Studying at the University of Edinburgh, she graduated with a BSc Hons in Medical Sciences in 2021. Throughout her time studying and beyond, Loren built up a strong background in healthcare support work, mainly through her roles in care of the elderly, and soon acquired a passion for improving patient care. Having also gained some research experience with the Cystic Fibrosis research team at the MRC Centre for Inflammation research, the intersection of clinical research and patient care soon became a passion that Loren wished to further explore.
After spending some time creating public education and information materials through various Medical Writing roles and internships, Loren quickly learned that she craved the day-to-day interactions with her patients that she had grown to love. When she came across the work that EMERGE does in trying to improve patient care through clinical trials, Loren knew that a role with the team would allow her to combine her two interests harmoniously. She is thrilled to have joined the amazing EMERGE team as a Clinical Trials assistant and looks forward to contributing to its mission of advancing emergency medicine research and improving patient outcomes. Loren hopes that through working with such a dedicated team she can provide valuable support to the innovative projects happening in the department.
