Mubarak is a Clinical Research Professional with a strong background in Life Sciences and a keen interest in the advancement of medicine through drug discovery. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, where he developed his foundation on the classification of medicinal plants with particular focus in plant Biochemistry and Phytochemistry. He holds a Master’s degree in Pharmacognosy from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he further advanced his interest in the science of natural drug discovery and clinical development processes.
His clinical research Journey started as a voluntary worker with the teaching hospital while studying for his master’s degree. He gained his first real-life patient facing experience and data collection process during this period. After the completion of his Master’s degree, he progressed ahead to become a Clinical Trials Coordinator (Regulatory Affairs) with a US-based company where he learned the principles of clinical trials, study-startup processes, and study monitoring.
Since relocating to the United Kingdom in 2023, he has continued his career as a clinical trial professional, holding several roles including Clinical Trials Administrator, and Clinical Trials Coordinator. Over the years, he has contributed to clinical studies across numerous therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, dermatology, vaccines, and neurology, with recent focus on Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Migraine research. Joining the EMERGE Team, he is looking forward to expand his scope of experience by exploring new therapeutic areas. Mubarak is a member of the International Accrediting Organization for Clinical Research. His experience spans the full clinical trial lifecycle including study start-up, patient recruitment and retention, data management, trial coordination, quality assurance and study close-out.
He is committed to continuous professional development and is driven by a long-term goal of contributing to the growth and advancement of clinical research globally, particularly in strengthening research capacity across Africa.
