Senior Research Nurse

Sheryl  graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2018 with a First Class Honours Degree.  She moved to Edinburgh to pursue a career in the Renal and Transplant High Dependency Unit, before moving to Intensive care in 2022. Here she honed her ability to manage critical situations, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in high- pressure environments.

She recently undertook a Masters module in Core Principles of critical care, in which she critically appraised research papers and took part in weekly discussions regarding key clinical trials relating to Intensive Care Medicine. This peaked her interest in research, and therefore she was delighted to take on the role of Research Nurse within the Emerge research team.

Since joining the team Sheryl has been impressed with the teams ability to blend high quality research with the fast-pace and often challenging environment of the Emergency Department.
