This qualitative study aims to explore how Acute Aortic Syndrome is being investigated in UK Emergency Departments from a clinicians perspective. We will interview around 20 senior members of Emergency Department staff to better understand their perspectives of risk and testing in Acute Aortic Syndrome with particular focus on the use of clinical gestalt vs clinical decision tools and decisions around the use of D-dimer.
