Alison Williams
Senior Research Nurse
I qualified in 2001 with a Diploma in Adult Nursing. I have the fondest memories of my first post in Orthopaedics growing in confidence, nursing skills and establishing fundamental nursing values and appreciation of my nursing role and duty of care.
A passion for acute medicine then took me to the Emergency Department and this has been my home for the last 13 years. I have always loved the fast pace and variety the ED offers working within a tight team of staff.
After 10 years of working as a ED staff nurse I expanded my scope of practice in the role of acute nurse practitioner. I have enjoyed working autonomously within a small team seeing and treating a variety of medical needs and gaining valuable knowledge and skills.
I have always had a curiosity about research and actively engaged with and supported ongoing trials/studies within the ED. This curiosity recently led me to apply for a post with the EMERGE team which I was very lucky to have been offered and here I am.
I am so excited to join such a highly respected and established research team within the Emergency Department. I hope to bring my experience, passion and enthusiasm for emergency medicine to my new post.
