Anna has long been curious about how our behaviours and experiences can influence aspects of health and care. She has explored these through undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Adult & Mental Health Nursing, and more recently completed a MScR in Nursing Studies where she conducted a qualitative study of patient and staff experiences of emergency department care for suicidality.
Since joining the NHS in 2012, Anna has worked in roles across emergency medicine and interventional psychiatry, with a focus on delivering innovative, personalised and holistic care. In her current role as Lead Research Nurse, Anna is committed to advancing our emergency mental health research portfolio and supporting the wellbeing and development of staff within emergency care settings.
Anna says “The Emergency Department is a brilliant environment to be a nurse – caring for patients during some of their most challenging and vulnerable moments, and working as part of a strong team with other professionals, families, and external services. Working as part of the dedicated EMERGE team, I’m enjoying contributing to research studies and to high standards of patient care, both in the department and through the wider applications of emergency medicine research.
